Birthday~

Haha, my birthday (January 27th) was kind of uneventful, since I had work that day...but I got a lot of love and greetings nonetheless (^^)

My family surprised me with an amazing dinner of seafood pasta, and a nice cake!



I was pretty happy with how the celebration went but it kind of reminded me that I was a year older (obviously) and I'm still not close at all to accomplishing the goals I'd listed down last year (>_<)

I'm happy though for several things; one is that my family does love me, even though I often feel irritated with them and the rest of the world. Still though, I'm starting to realize that seriously, I have a long way to go regarding my goals and dreams (no matter how ridiculous they are) and even though I should be happy that I have a job, I really have to take a lot of things more seriously. Some people at work are saddled down with more things to do than me, and it makes me feel bad that I'm complaining about how my life is going and that I apparently have too little time to myself.

And I ask myself over and over again: "What am I doing with my life?"

The answer may as well be: "Nothing."

I need to bring myself out of being lazy and just do what it is I want to accomplish.

I have to work on the mini-projects that I promised myself I would work on, and I will finish them.

Let's see what I can do.

So, for now, I've been thinking about doing some character illustrations on book characters. There are certain books I read that always inspire me, and the Howl's Moving Castle series by Dianna Wynne Jones is one of them. Another is Ella Enchanted, so I'll be trying my hand at making illustrations of those. I've already started on Howl's Moving Castle, so I hope to have something to present by next week. I'm doing a bit of research on fashion and clothing in that era so hopefully something does strike me.

Oh, and I guess I'm missmysty's official fanfic illustrator for her Sekaiichi Hatsukoi fanfics now that we've done one project together. I illustrated her fanfiction "Morning Sun", a Sekaiichi Hatsukoi AU fic. I'm thankful to her since she got me started on this road (even if it was a very rocky process, hah), and I hope to continue.

She's starting a new AU fanfic for Sekaiichi Hatsukoi called "Idol", which I also hope to illustrate as it goes along.

THE NUTCRACKER!

Oh, ballet~! How I missed you~ ♪


I can't believe I was able to catch The Nutcracker last night! (笑)
The performance was amazing, to say the least. I'm really glad that Ochibi and Kin-chan invited me to watch, as I had nothing better to do anyway, and this felt like the chance of a lifetime. And I was glad, too. (^^)

Me trying to pose against a backdrop of Lisa Macuja. I never made it to toe shoes back when I was still taking ballet, so this pose was difficult to hold, and had to be repeated several times. (笑) My ankles will never be the same way again. (^^;)


Kin-chan, Ochibi and me against one of the curtains of the ALIW Theater during one of the intermissions. Now that they had seen part of the ballet for themselves, my old ballet training was so much more evident, according to them. I kept getting teased all night.(笑)


After the performance, we went to CCP in order to buy Fanta from the gift shop. I had told Ochibi about it some time back and now that we had the opportunity, we got her the Fanta she always wanted. I ordered a Dr. Pepper, and regretted it: it really tasted like medicine! I will never drink it again. (>_<);;


One of the best moments of the evening: Kontra-Gapi's performance at the CCP Night Market! As it turns out, every first Saturday of the month, CCP holds a Night Market. Sometimes there are guests invited to perform, and we saw Kontra-Gapi that night. Kontra-Gapi stands for Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino, and they're an ethic music and dance ensemble from UP Diliman. Their music was wonderful, and it was a good end to a culture-ridden night. (笑)

Although they wanted to pressure me to dance. (笑)

Since today was Masa's birthday, I had to do a little something to celebrate.（笑）
I finally bought myself some new earphones!!

Kin-chan and I went to Wakuwaku today. Kuya Joma was kind enough to open up the store for us, even though he was supposed to be closed today. Oh Kuya. You're so kind. (>_<)

Of course as with all Wakuwaku trips, there was much teasing.（笑）
It's not my fault Kin-chan has a tendency to be a stalker.（笑）
Still though, I'm very glad. Kin-chan bought me some Gundam artbooks because it was Masa's birthday. Nyaha~

EA's Birthday celebration (笑)

Last night was EA's 19th birthday! Earlier that afternoon, he had pizza and coke delivered to our Toujin hangout. We kampai'd. (笑)

Happy birthday, EA! No one could ask for a better guitarist for our band.
...Just work on getting past those TV-sizes, okay? (笑)

On a side note, it rained quite heavily that evening. While waiting to go out, I danced in the rain for the first time. (笑)It wasn't very long, but it felt awesome. (^^)

We were supposed to watch Inception, but I wasn't allowed to go out for a movie. However, I did manage to hang around with EA, Geline and Anna at Eastwood.

We knocked ourselves out at the arcade and ate dinner at a Euro-Japanese restaurant, Mr. Kurosawa.

The food is awesome, though, I will have to admit, rather pricey. (>.<) The sushi platter had a bunch of things I'd never tasted before, like octopus and SEA URCHIN!


I like sea urchin nao. (笑)
But, like genuine takoyaki, it will definitely be a rarity here. (笑)

I also got to drink sake for the first time. Strawberry-flavored sake! I wish I had taken a photo.(笑)

I'm a very careless drinker though. (^^;) I gulp instead of sipping. (笑)

It was a very fun night and I hope to spend more time with everyone soon~♪

FINALS?!

Today is our exam in Japanese! Aaaaagh. I haven't finished my market research, so I might have to resort to asking for my mother's help again...(;_;)
It's really in the last couple of days that work is finally starting to take its toll on me. (>o<)/

Yesterday was fun though. It was Setomaru's birthday!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SETO KOJI~
I went to Cubao (again) so that I could check on prices at Shopwise. Kin-chan and Ochibi thankfully helped me, it got the job done faster and we were able to hang out a little. Timezone fun! And I guess that's how we celebrated Seto's day?

Recently I've felt like, since we live in different cities but can see each other pretty easily, and because we love TeniPuri so much, part of me was thinking the silly thought that it was like we were living in different prefectures in the same region. and our constant hangouts and blogging are really starting to become more and more like Tenimyu actor blog posts.

I swear, we can be delusional. (笑) or maybe it's just me...

on a random note, I'm glad finals may be over today. My classmates and I will most probably have a shoot today for our final project, and then this Saturday, I mighthave to help choerograph a dance for the kids in the Japanese club. Since when did I become a choreographer?! (笑)

That's all for now though. I must cram!! (笑)

IRON MAN 2 !!

Haha, I just came home from watching Iron Man 2 with friends. The movie was great, even though I hadn't watched the first movie at all. I was pretty much able to follow it.
Oh, and a tip for those who are about to watch it: Stay till after the credits!! There is an extra scene, and it caused a lot of excitement among the audience.

I finally got the car into the garage today~ ♪ Success!

And I'm on painkillers~ ♪ (笑)

My arms still ache from yesterday's climb, so I had to take painkillers today. (笑)

Plus that certain time of month has arrived (^_^;)

So far, I haven't gotten into any serious accidents while driving. (笑) But it's still difficult to not step hard on the accelerator! (^_^;) I need to learn to control the car better, I keep making some very sharp turns to avoid things! (笑)

So! Today was rather nice. I finished a final exam in 26 minutes! I was able to leave class early.

Also! It was my groupmate Raizza's birthday!!

Celebrations.

So today turned out to be a double celebration--it was our parish priest's birthday and my fellow lector/commentator Dab's 18th birthday. (^^)

The party was fun, although I had to leave slightly early since school starts tomorrow--actually, in a couple of hours. (^^;)

The venue was in this local restaurant that was built near the river, so i tried to take a photo of the bridge. Sadly, my cellphone camera is not up to par, but i tried. (>_<)

The lights are kind of pretty. (^^)

Also, i had my first attempt at omuraisu the other day! (^o^)

(Omuraisu/Omurice = Omelet+ fried rice, for those who don't know)

Admittedly, it wasn't as good as i had expected, perhaps my fried rice isn't strongly flavored enough? or the scrambled egg? Not sure. I'll probably attempt this another time. (^^;)

But it's nice to know i can cook an omelet without ruining it. (^^)

It's the first time I've actually celebrated your birthday! (^^) If only i was able to have yakiniku today, LOL. Gomen, gomen! (^^;) I forgot to bring candles to school today, so I couldn't even buy a cupcake...boo...

Well, today was an amusing day spent with some friends criticizing the Hollywood version of AVATAR, and of course, criticizing New Moon and the rest of its franchise. Its shocking what some fans will do. we went through a list online and the events are just...ugh. (>_<)

Still, at the end of the day, I went out with some other groupmates to Mcdonald's (^o^)/

Well, i downloaded a lot of stuff, and ogled Nakagauchi Masataka's videos and tried to dance. hahaha. God i suck. (/sweat)

And this morning I had to get up early for an exam at AHEAD. If any of you guys recall, I applied as an academic tutor in hopes of getting a part-time job. They gave me an application form to fill out along with an IQ test, an English exam that covered both grammar and reading comprehension, a Math exam and a Science exam. It was pretty mind-wringing. Even though I normally do pretty well in English, I found myself stumbling over some questions in test paper. (>_<) I'd actually go so far as to say that I think I did better in the Math and Science portions than I did in English--and Math is my epic weakness, save for Geometry. (>o<)

Well, at the very least I was able to get through it. I'll be texted the results of the exam and if I pass, I'll be giving a teaching demo for them. (^^;)

Well, on a much brighter note, we just bought some ice cream from the grocery today. We got two flavors, cheese and double dutch, LOL. (>w<)b
